Hi all
Back in February 2023, my usual team of 4 took a kid-free trip down to Melbourne over a long weekend. First up on our Melb weekend away was Locked In Escape Rooms in Morningong.
The third room that we played there was The Cure. It was our 219th room to date. The summary of the room is as follows:
The new Locertic virus has hit the community hard. The research team at the Carbine Hospital believes they have found a cure. Unfortunately, it can’t be released to the public until it goes through rigorous TGA testing. With one of your team infected, you must try and get into the lab and find the cure before time runs out.
Here is what I thought of The Cure:
· we found the difficulty level of The Cure to be somewhere in between The Wizard’s Lair and Nova;
· I would describe the room as largely linear, but there are some points where we could break off and divide and conquer in smaller teams or solo;
· there were some really cool puzzles in The Cure. There was also a nice variety of puzzles and spaces, which resulted in good room flow;
· there were some puzzle elements that we had not seen used before. We manage to break the record for the room, but in full disclosure, we had a doctor in our team (so that might have provided a slight advantage with some puzzles);
· the theming was nicely done in all of the spaces throughout The Cure and the props were all well considered throughout; and
· as with the other rooms, Carolyn kindly took the time after we escaped to walk us through the room and through all of the puzzles and the details behind the game design.
We enjoyed our time in The Cure, as well as in the other 2 rooms that we played that day at Locked In Escape Rooms. Mornington Peninsula is very lucky to have such high quality escape rooms on their doorstep.
