SCRAM Escape Rooms - Forget Everything And Run (F.E.A.R.) Review (Sydney)

Back in January 2022, my usual team of 4 headed out to Parramatta to check out the newest rooms at SCRAM.  We were there to play 4 rooms back to back.  It was our third time at SCRAM, having played rooms before at both of their Parramatta locations.  We have always enjoyed our experiences at SCRAM - last time we played rooms at their newer, Church St location we noticed an incredible step up in the quality of the theming and props in their rooms.

With F.E.A.R., we were a team of 3 (as our fourth team member couldn’t join us until a little later in the day).  F.E.A.R. was my 203^rd escape room experience.  The theme of the room is as follows:

Forget. Everything. And. Run.

There is a woman in the woods who you suspect has priceless jewels you wish to steal. An insider leads you out to her cabin so that you may begin your heist. You can be assured that things go terribly wrong.

Age Restriction: 15 +

Here’s what I thought about F.E.A.R.:

·                 this room ranks up there with the scariest experiences we have ever played;

·                 the theming in F.E.A.R. is really strong.  There is a decent backstory as well, which flows very well throughout the experience;

·                 there was a really nice mix of different puzzles in this room – none were impossibly difficult but we found them fun and challenging; and

·                 the biggest challenge in this room, by far, is the challenge of trying to concentrate while you are being bombarded with jump scares from every angle.  This room is definitely scary – we spent a lot time standing huddled, back to back, in the middle of the room waiting for the next jump scare (which I loved).

Be warned, F.E.A.R. is a scary room.  If, like me, you enjoy the idea of being surrounded by jump scares while you’re trying to figure out puzzles, then this room is definitely for you.  The puzzles were challenging and varied and we (or at least I) had a great time :-)
