  1. Hi I've been reading your reviews and they're really helpful in selecting escape rooms. And I just saw a groupon deal for Mission Real Life Escape Room and thought you might be interested. Keep up the great reviews!

    1. Thanks! I've just posted a separate blog entry to let everyone know. It's a shame the Groupon is so limited, but a great price for those who can get there mid-week.

    4. We went to the Labyrinth Escape Room a couple of weeks ago so we were expecting something similar and we actually found the Military bunker quite difficult! It was very tricky and we needed quite a few clues. But it was fun and we got out in the end. The only thing I missed was that they didn't take us through the room at the end (which they did in the Labyrinth one).

    5. Hi Natasha

Yes, Military Bunker is a difficult room. I think it has the most puzzle elements of any room in Sydney. Try their Supercell 117 room - it's not any easier, but I think it's more logical/linear, which your team might find easier (as we did).

      Thanks

    6. Yeah we definitely want to try Supercell 117, we all think it sounds really fun. We will be going to the Vampire Castle this Wednesday and we'll probably try to go to Supercell 117 the following week.
I also got that voucher for the Onewayout escape room but I can't seem to get a hold of anyone to make a booking. Any tips?

    7. Vampire was the second room we did in Australia. It was a lot of fun (the theming of the puzzles doesn't quite match the room theme, but it's fun and high tech). Their Dr M is the better of their rooms, but both are well above par. Good luck getting in touch with One Way Out. You might have read on my blog here that they used to be called No Way Out, but they had lots of false starts and technical issues when they opened so they then changed their name. I have written a couple of emails to Mike, the owner some weeks ago about the name change but I'm still waiting on a response. I would just keep calling and emailing until you get a response. Report back here if you don't get anywhere.

      Enjoy Vampire Castle!

    8. I tried texting One way out instead and finally got a response. Seems like texting is the way to go with them. So we're booked in for the 11th of December. I'm going with my husband and a couple of our friends who have never been to an escape room before. Do you think One way out will be doable for them?

I got two vouchers for Mission Escape so we'll go to Dr M during the Christmas holidays, since the voucher is only valid on Tuesday 2:50pm. I'm really looking forward to that one. And I'll be going to the Mystic Clue in Perth with my family over Christmas. Looking forward to see how that one goes. I've seen some mixed reviews on that one online.

    9. Yes, One Way Out is fine for a team of combined beginners and more experienced players. It's actually a pretty good room - a couple of puzzles were offline when we were there, which was a shame.

I recommend that you book your time slot for Dr M straight away. I personally know people who are also booking for that time slot, so no doubt they will book out pretty quickly (if they haven't already). It's annoying that they have such a limited window to try the rooms with that discount voucher, but the price is awesome given the quality of their rooms (particularly Dr M, which is an 80 minute experience).

    10. Great advice! I'll confirm with my friend for that time slot and book it asap.

    11. Hey Scott,

We (my husband, our two friends and I) completed the Vampire Castle last night and it was so much fun! We completed it with 12 minutes left. We all agreed that it was the best escape room we have gone to so far.

I wanted to ask you, since you completed the escape room if you remember how one of the puzzles worked, because one of my team mates got it right but he just guessed the code instead of solving it.

    12. I'm really glad you enjoyed Vampire Castle. It was the first room that we did in Sydney that was really well done. I have no doubt that you will like their Dr M room even more.

Rather than post here (and give spoilers), instead send me an email (escaperoomsydney@gmail.com) with your query about the puzzle and I'll let you know what I remember. And if I have forgotten the puzzle, I have a work colleague who escaped from Vampire Castle very recently, so I'll ask her about it too.
